Bashing Summer Bordem!!
As a child, I spent many hours swimming in Rainy Lake. I grew up in good ole International Falls, MN. Right on the Canadian border. I have many memories of the ice breaking, on the lake,(always later in the spring of coarse) and my dad would take us to jump in. The rush of freezing, ice-chilled water hitting and shooting up your spine! Awe the memories! (HA!) The high-light of my Summer was camping! There is something so amazing about leaving the every day life and escaping into the calmness of nature. You have no other choice but to soak it all in. We would take our boat, all of our camping gear, and find a great camp site on Rainy. Usually we would go with a couple other families. Sometimes my parents would allow us to bring a friend. Either way I always had a blast! I sometimes wish I could go back to that part of my childhood. That time has come and gone and I now have three amazing kids of my own! My husband and I have taken them camping but it just isn't the same as Rainy Lake! It may never be the same but I think that is okay. I realize that we have a chance to make amazing (NEW) memories with our own kids/family!! We moved our family to Middle TN about 5 years ago and even though it isn't filled with 10,000 lakes, I think that it is beginning to feel like home. My Northern roots will probably always be there but I am starting to LOVE TN more and more each day. I do hope that someday I am able to take my kids camping on Rainy though! ;) I thank God for where we are and as for now we will create wonderful memories with what God has given us! This is Percy Priest Lake in Middle TN. My brother and his family came to visit this Summer for a week! Here are some previews of all our kids!!!(7 kids)!!!
I hope you enjoy...
